Yesterday we attended the fundraising event for Surfers Against Suicide in Manly which was sponsored by Komunity Projects (by Kelly Slater) – We did not manage to speak with Kelly – he is really hard to get access to but the other surfers were quite happy to talk.
We interviewed Simon Anderson (australian shaper who invented the Truster), Tom Carroll (26 career world tour wins, 3 Pipe Masters victories (87, 90, and 91), and 2 world titles), Bondi rescue and famous Bra Boy Jesse Pollock.
We also interviewed John Sayers (half owner of Komunity with Kelly Slater who owns the other half) and Mark Johnson (A Komunity Volunteer)
We are still working on trying to get Kelly to speak in support of gay surfers in front of our cameras. We are also planning to be back in San Diego 24th August to 8th September to shoot follow up interviews with our main protagonists.
It’s very exciting news but we do need some funding to finish shooting and cover the cost of post-production, so do not hesitate to donate and share with your friends and contacts who you think can help.
Wish you all good waves and happiness.
Cheers
Don, Ian and Thomas. http://outinthelineup.com/
