Written by The Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras parade (now called the Sydney Mardi Gras) will happen again in the streets of Sydney this coming march.
After our awesome participation in the 2011 mardi gras the organizers asked us if we wanted to be part of it for a second consecutive year, but we did not find enough volunteers in Sydney this year to organise the float. We found plenty of members who wanted to march in the float, but not enough people to organise the planning.
So surfers will NOT be represented in the 2012 Sydney Mardi Gras parade, but we might do it again next year ? If you want to volunteer to help organise Mardi Gras 2013, send an email to info@gaysurfers.net … Thanks
Oh that sucks that you didn’t get enough people… I’ve only read this down and even though I live in QLD would have been keen to help out. Will keep my eyes posted for 2013 though 🙂
